Fundarora de la fundacion CAS
Guatemala International Christian Education Foundation Inc.
As co-founder of CAS it's a pleasure for me to see how the school is growing in many areas. Not only are we growing in size but we are improving in our academic skills as well. Each year more students are being accepted to colleges both within and outside of Guatemala. It has been a blessing to have received a student with zero English who
is now able to be an interpreter when we receive missionaries. We are sure the blessings are received from God because the vision of the Christian American School is to raise up our students to the Lord.
We are very pleased to invite you to be part of our community and together develop eager students who will take the name of "Guatemala" around the world and share their knowledge and passion to serve God and his followers.
Welcome to Christian American School Preschool! I am so excited that
you have chosen our preschool as the place for your child to grow and
learn! My desire is that your child grow to love his/ her preschool class
and come home talking about all the wonderful things they did and
learned throughout the day. Our program offers a wide variety of
academic experiences and works to instill a love of God in the hearts of our young students.
Our preschool teachers work hard to make sure that your child is actively learning throughout the day. We plan daily lessons to encourage and challenge your preschooler to learn all that they can about the world around them.
Having had worked at CAS for 8 years now, I speak highly of our preschool program, not only as the director, but also as a mother of two who attend CAS. We have been blessed by the relationships we have built here and by the many teachers who instruct my daughters. I can’t imagine a better place for my daughters to spend their day learning and growing. The first day of school is an exciting milestone in your child's life. Your child is embarking on a journey that will lead them on many roads of discovery and learning. As wonderful as this new experience may be, it can also be quite stressful for the young child. New situations and change can, at times, be unsettling for all of us. For many children this may be their first experience of separation from parents or care givers at home. It is common for even the most outgoing child to be anxious the first day of school.
We have provided a few suggestions for assisting your child during this time. Remember the preschool staff will be available to provide support and assistance; making your child's first school days happy days.
• Prepare you child for the new school experience by explaining what to expect. Answer all questions directly and honestly.
• Convey a positive attitude. Young children are aware of your feelings. Your enthusiasm will assure the child that school can be a fun and exciting place.
• Establish a routine involving both the night before a school day as well as morning preparation. Rituals and routines will add predictability and are comforting in unfamiliar situations.
• Clearly state to your child where yo
u will be and when you will return. It may also be helpful to discuss what will happen when you are reunited.
• Maintain a clear good-bye routine. This may include warning the child you are leaving in 3 minutes, a kiss and hug, or a wave from the window. Once you tell your child you are leaving, it is important to follow through. Extending the good-bye with, "Ok just one more
kiss, and then I really have to go” tends to heighten anxiety rather than relieve it. Avoid sneaking out, as this seems to encourage children to become less trusting and makes the second day of school even harder. Above all please do not get out of the car, a teacher will
recieve your child and walk them in.
Again, please know we are here to help make the first day of school a happy transition and we look forward to an exciting and fun year. Welcome!
